Johnny Cash – At San Quentin
At San Quentin was recorded live at San Quentin prison in 1969 and released later that year. This is Johnny Cash’s second album recorded in a prison. The first was 1968’s Folsom Prison. The album topped the charts and was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Male Country Vocal Performance for “A Boy Named Sue”.
Kim Carnes – Mistaken Identity
The sixth studio album, Mistaken Identity was released in April 1981 and was one of the biggest albums of the year. It produced the number-one single for the entire year in “Bette Davis Eyes’. The album was nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
