Sly And The Family Stone’s fourth studio album was released on May 3, 1969, by Epic Records. The album was written and produced by lead singer Sly Stone and is considered to be the best material of the band’s career. The album was released just before the band’s performance at Woodstock and went on to sell 500,000 copies in 1969. It contains several hit songs like “Stand!” and “Everyday People”.
Santana
Santana’s debut self-titled album was recorded and released on August 30, 1969. The album features improvisational instrumental music as well as more conventional songs, which was suggested to give the album more impact. The album peaked at number 4 and featured two singles: “Jump” and the more popular “Evil Ways”.
