The seventh studio album by Elton John, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, was released in 1973. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is largely regarded as one of John’s best albums. Ranked as number 91 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of 500 greatest albums of all time. Upon release Goodbye Yellow Brick Road reached critical commercial success receiving certified Gold by the RIAA in the initial year of release. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road would go on to sell over 30 million copies worldwide. It would inevitably certified 8x platinum and hosts a handful of hits such as: “Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding,” “Candle in the Wind,” “Bennie and the Jets,” “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting,” and “Harmony.”
