The Doors – Waiting for the Sun

Waiting for the Sun is the Doors’ third studio album released in 1968. It propelled the band into the number 1 album spot on the Top Billboard 200 and spawned their second number one single “Hello, I Love You.” Waiting for the Sun also garnered the Doors international success in the UK. Waiting for the Sun hosts a handful of hit songs such as: “Hello, I Love You,” “Love Street,” “Not to Touch the Earth,” “The Unknown Soldier,” “We Could Be So Good Together,” and “Five to One.”

The Band – Music from Big Pink

The Band’s debut studio album Music from Big Pink was released in 1968. It distinctively blended the sounds of country, rock, folk, classical, R&B, and soul music to define the sounds of the Band. The Band’s sound caught the ear of Bob Dylan before the production of the debut album which prompted the Band to back Dylan on his 1966 tour under the pseudonym “the Hawks.” The album’s artwork is a painting by Bob Dylan. Music from Big Pink showcases a handful of hits such as: “Tears of Rage,” “The Weight,” “We Can Talk,” “Long Black Veil,” “Chest Fever,” “Lonesome Suzie,” “This Wheel’s on Fire,” “I Shall Be Released.”
