CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL – COSMO’S FACTORY (1970)
With the release of Cosmo’s Factory in July 1970, Creedence Clearwater Revival hit their commercial zenith. It was their fifth album in two years and became an international smash, topping the album charts in six countries. The album delivered six songs to the top twenty, including Run Through The Jungle, Who’ll Stop the Rain, Up Around The Bend and the eleven minute cover of Marvin Gaye’s I Heard It Through The Grapevine.
THE EAGLES – ON THE BORDER (1974)
On the Border is the third studio album the Eagles, released in 1974. Apart from two songs produced by Glyn Johns, it was produced by Bill Szymczyk because the group wanted a more rock-oriented sound instead of the country-rock feel of the first two albums. It is the first Eagles album to feature guitarist Don Felder. On the Border reached number 17 on the Billboard album chart and has sold two million copies.
Three singles were released from the album: “Already Gone”, “James Dean” and “Best of My Love”. “Best of My Love” became the band’s first of their five chart toppers.
